I've read in various places that Spykee will be able to climb stairs, thanks to his versatile rubber tank-tracks, but I'm wondering, will he be able to go down stairs just as easily, or will he just tumble down?
Has anyone got a Spykee Micro yet? Perhaps someone with the little version might be able to offer some insight?
I'm not sure I believe this reported ability to climb stairs, unless the triangular treads can rotate separately from the body. To me it seems he is leaning back to far, so if the leading end of the tread starts to climb up a stair step, he'll fall over backward. The mini isn't too helpful, as the treads are 'for show' only; mini Spykee actually rolls on two little rubber wheels and a swivel caster at the front. From the shape of the main body (triangular block with a tread roller at each vertex) I'd guess that the rollers are hard mounted to the body. Are there any videos of Spykee in motion?
I hope he can.
i think his track tires turn up and down (i hope you get what i mean) and if they are long enough he might be able to go down the stairs and it looks like he is leaning back so i think that should help him go down without falling
I can definitely confirm that Spykee cannot climb or descend stairs. I think this was a rumour going about when Spykee was first announced, but completely unsubstantiated.
How about having two Spykee's - one for upstairs mischief and the other for downstairs spying?
Definitely not of course ! He can go downstairs... if you want to break it !
By the way, he is'nt strong enough. If you hit his arms, you break them... Meccano's new fixation system s***s !
