Hi
I was hoping somebody might be able to help me I am having rel trouble trying to connect spykee remotely, no problem with ad hoc or local mode with wi fi access point.
Every time I try to connect a box appears after entering my login details stating 'connection error occured please try to reconnect.' One thing I did discover is that this happens regardless of wether I enter my correct password or a random bunch of letters almost as if the authentication is not working. However it does recognise if I enter an incorrect login name, and yes i have changed the admin password from admin and i have also tried every step in the bookmuch to my frustration.
I am trying to connect remotely using my home internet from a laptop connected by a wireless router which is the same one spykee is connected to, so I can check it works properly which obviously at the moment it doesn't. I have the router configured correctly and spykee is connected to the same wifi point and is on his station. So to sum up lets assume my network is called homenetwork, therefore the pc I am using is connected to homenetwork spykee is connected to homenetworknetwork and I am using homenetwork to connect to internet through spykee interface for remote connection. any help and ideas will be greatly appreciated. Really pee'd off with this
Thanks
I have now managed to solve this problem and so listed the new thread Info concerning Connection problems wi fi and remote in the hope that it will help a lot of people save alot of time and frustration.

I can't connect either. I've looked at the forum. I've tried everything suggested. I can't figure out what I'm missing. I just get "robot not available" I'm not a network newbie. I've got a Slingbox, IP camera and wireless printer. I'm trying to connect through a Linksys router/Gateway. It won't work in router mode, that disconnects the internet. Has to be Gateway. I've got port forwarding set up. The Spykee credentials check.
I figured it out. I was using my cell as a modem for a laptop and the lag was so bad my login attempts to the spykee finder service were timing out. I would get a 2sec ping on the first packet. After that it would go down to like 200ms which almost doesn't suck. Note to UK readers: cell data service in the U.S. is terrible. My solution was to run a ping in a command window at the same time as my login attempt so the lag would come down from that initial 2sec. Sweet. Now it works.
