Spykee has a surveillance mode where you can set it to send you an email if motion is detected.
This function only appears to be available when you are connected to Spykee in ad hoc or over your
local wifi. What good is that if you are at home,
Can anybody tell me how this works if you are connected over the internet, when the Spykee config page is not available.
And can you leave Spykee in surveillance mode to send an email when no one is connected to it.
Has anybody worked this out, or am I looking at this problem in an illogical way??
Pete.
Please disregard my last post, it seems that Spykee's surveillance does work over the internet,
But it does not work if you are not connected, as it uses the host pc to send mail. (I think).
Next question, can Spykee be active and still on its base unit, so as not to use up its batteries?
Hi Pete
answer to your question above is No. When spykee is on his base station he goes in to a sleep mode ( if his battery is full) . You can always reactivate him remotely and keep him near his base station so when his battery runs low he can auto park and recharge!!

I'm having trouble with the email function. When I set the SMTP to "SMTP.AOL.COM" it doesn't work. If I use my other email account "SMTP.COMCAST.NET" it works. This is when the connection is a local one. When I'm connected remotely from work, neither of these servers works. I'm confused about how this works. I know that it's probably got something to do with the fact that on aol.com, you need to log on to the server with a username and password. But isn't that the way it is with all mail servers? So, if that's the case, just how does Spykee send mail??
