Hi All,
This is a bit funny. I'd been waiting since January to get one of these and finally got one only yesterday. Built it using the specs in the mag. When charged and connected it worked perfectly and I was having great fun until the vibrations from movement caused its upper body to come loose and fall off, this strained the USB connection. After fixing the upper body the camera and head lights no longer work, tried applying slight pressure to all angles on the USB connection, no joy. So its now blind. I've emailed the address on the Spykee web site and explained the problem, hopefully a replacement is on the cards. I'll keep you posted.
(Tip here, don't use the black connectors as instructed, use the blue connectors which make a stronger connection).
you will get a replacment,
the upper part of mine doesnt stay up either. i used to blue tack to help it lol
HI All,
I brought the broken Spykee back to the store and they replaced it for a new one.
This gets even funnier, left the base charging while I built the upper body, 2 hours later attached it to the base and had it whizzing around, was again having great fun then bam, camera stopped working and heads lights gone, this time no strain on the USB connection. After cursing my was through the alphabet I decided to reinstall the software and pin reset Spykee, and it worked again. I know think the one I got replaced was'nt faulty either. Aw well this things are learned with experience, theres was nothing in the FAQ's etc on the website.
So in summary, if your camera stops working don't assume a loose USB connection, try reinstall and pin reset.
