Hi - I have local and ad hoc control working OK, but I'm getting a weird problem when I try to set the robot up for remote, and if anybody can offer any advice I'd be really grateful.
I check the box for 'Allow remote connection", but then when I click 'OK' (or try to do anything else in the configuration settings) an error message pops up 'Invalid Robot Password.' I have to shut the config window, and when I go back, 'allow remote connection' is unchecked again.
I've registered the robot, and when I click 'Verify' in the My Spykee tab, It tells me that 'the connection credentials are correct'.
I'm probably missing some very, very basic point, but I'd be really grateful if someone would point me in the right direction!
Thanks in advance.
OK - All fixed. It was simple, but I'm a bit annoyed a Spykeeworld.com now!
What I read on some other posts here helped me figure it out. If you have ANY non-standard characters in your Robot's name or password when you register, Spykeeworld will happily accept them. When you click from the console to confirm them, it will even confirm that they're right.
But they won't work.
I removed a '!' from the end of my password and now everything is working just fine. I'm even connecting remotely from my Linux laptop (via a virtual windows install).
