Re: I have a big Problem with my Spykee on start up

Hi,

I had similar probs setting up my Spykee this morning- but I cracked it !!. My main pc is directly connected to my wifi router via an ethernet cable and this can't be used initially to connect to Spykee .You must have a pc with a wifi interface.I borrowed my son's new laptop(don't tell him! ) and installed the software on that as well.

For windows , under network connections you need to change the wireless networking to connect  to Spykee directly ( instead of the wifi router which probably have for the internet). Once you have done this , run the Spykee software and it should then list his name in the local robots  field - it will be in the format SPYKEEnnnnnnnn. Select this and click connect and you're good to go.The account should be admin with a password of admin (in lower case). If this doesn't work try  powering him off and on again and repeat the procedure above.

After this , if you do need to use a pc that doesn't have wifi interface but is connected to a wifi router (via ethernet), then you have to configure Spykee with the details of your wireless router and a  wep key if you use it.  The next time you power him up  he will beep 3 times instead of 2 and should connect to your wireless router.

Hope this helps
