WiFi connection......just wont connect

Hi everyone, please can someone tell me what im doing worng. I have a netgear router with 7 antennae (so im told) and evertone who comes into the house can conncect their laptops once i give them the key, without a problem....EXCEPT SPYKEE. I bought the robot for my hubby for christmas and have registered the robot and hve him connect to my laptop. Ive put the passkey in for him to connect and my network name is short with no spaces, although i covers letters from the beginning and the end of the alphabet (no numbers).

Spykee searches for the network and then reverts back to his own local settings even when sat by the router itself. Please help as hubby wont use the robot now and i feel i have wasted over £100.

Thanks

Lyds xx

Re: WiFi connection......just wont connect

The only thing i can think og is after youve added the wireless network you need to turn spykee of for a short while then on again to fine the network

Hope this makes a little sense

Re: WiFi connection......just wont connect

Welcome to the club! It doesn't connect at all to my Netgear Wi-Fi Router - at least not in WPA mode. It does work in WEP mode, however. I ended up running a separate access point with WEP alonside my WPA network (yes that's two wireless networks) to accommodate the failing devices.

So, in summary, use WEP not WPA (see your wireless AP/router security settings) and don't use spaces in the password - in fact I recommend you choose and enter your key in Hexadecimal.

Re: WiFi connection......just wont connect

i had the problem that it would only connect to our router if there is no security at all (neither wep nor wap)...
