I thought that I'd be able to control Spykee from my PC. I have a wireless router that my Internet cable modem plugs into and my PC plugs into the router also. Is there a way to control Spykee with this setup? I don't want to have to buy another $50 wireless card for my PC to get at Spykee. Any ideas on how I can rearrange my hardware to be able to 'see' Spykee with my PC? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
That's a tough one. I think you have to have a computer with a wifi card in order to at least initially connect to Spykee in what the manual calls the beginner level ad hoc mode. After that, you probably could use the Spykee software's admin console to configure Spykee to use your wireless router in what the manual calls the intermediate level. Maybe you can borrow a laptop from someone for the initial Spykee setup? Good luck. Assuming you can get past the intial setup procedure and your router doesn't have WPA security (Spykee don't always likee WPA), you should be able to get your computer to work with Spykee as long as you can get Spykee to see your router.
I gave up trying to use what I had and bought a Belkin G Wireless USB Network Adapter for my PC. Now I can't seem to connect in ad hoc mode, but I'll add a different thread about that.
