Re: Camera Tilt Made Easy

First decent mod I've seen :-) looks like your using a nano arduino to control the servo.. I havent started ripping anything apart yet but have used the arduino on a few projects already.

I was thinking it might be possible to get the arduino to listen for commands ie from the spykee's speaker so you could say set the angle of the head etc from a certain sound output, this would then open a whole new area...

Er, wow.  That looks great, just what the Spykee needs!  You could market a mod like this, I imagine just about every Spykee owner would pay good money for this.

Re: Camera Tilt Made Easy

Yes - very nice Mod. It is sad that the two useless light 'switches' are default instead of a tilt option - but since they are all we have, I was also thinking of using photodiodes/LDRs to sense the 'fibre-optics' - but since I am not a PIC guy - I was going to try and acomplish the same thing - in an analog way...

I do need to take care of the fact that both lights cycle when they are not 'on' with some clever IF/AND logic though - gee thanks Meccano - lol. (on or off woulda been nice) It will have to recognize when BOTH the red AND green light on each seperate side are lit at the same time before triggering. But once that is taken care of - you have two switches that are on or off... throw relays and/or send a TTL signal (but I think I'm going to try and stay away from using a little programmable logic controller board I have)... lot's of possibilities - but the most practical - camera tilt or track up AND camera tilt or track down...

I will be working on it in the next while as I do not have access to PIC chips/programs/programmers... and although I have that PLC board it is not widely used by others, so not easy to dulpicate and pointless to share then - although it would probably be easier - lol

I'd like to get a circuit designed though that uses very common parts to do this so that the majority of ppl can finally bring the most useful (and terribly overlooked) Mod to our Skypees.

Thoughts and ideas are welcome... :)
